I never thought in a million years that I would have scarecrows in my backyard in August. I woke up this morning and realized that I had no choice.
Upon a routine morning visit to the backyard to check on my blossoms and crops, I discovered another sunflower that had been nibbled on to the point of destruction. Had I known that critters would devour my sunflowers, I would have been more prepared and ready to strike back much earlier. Now I have lost 4 very large blooms, thanks to whomever is destroying them! Today I empowered myself to solve the issue. It was time to defend my sunflower patch.
At the present time, I have two large scarecrows on guard and I have also sprayed repellent and sprinkled cayenne pepper around each stalk (thanks to Grams' suggestion). I never thought I would have fall deco setup in August, but what choice do I have?? Introducing Harry and Sally...
I hope this works! I was hoping to have sunflowers until Halloween, but now I am not so sure. BACK OFF MY BACKYARD!!

Hey - if those "crows" don't work you should stick Peter up in that flower patch.
