We met with Dr Granader today for another routine checkup. I am now 6 months along and doing as well as can be. The baby's heartbeat is good, she looks good on screen, and she is moving around quite a bit everyday. In fact, she has done gymnastics on my bladder this past week that has sent me running for the bathroom a few times! Chris is worried that may be a sign that she will be a hard one to tame outside the womb. Nah - she will still be Daddy's little angel, I'm sure! More terrific news is that I am excused from having to take daily prenatal vitamins, as long as I continue to keep my current diet. Thank goodness because I cannot keep them down for anything. As long as I continue to consume my omega fatty acids twice a week through food, I will be all good. No problem there.
Several weeks ago we decided on a beautiful name for our little mama: Gianna Emmalina Morello. Gianna is actually an altered version of Giovanna. The Italian meaning behind her name is "God's gracious gift". So true! Her nickname will most likely be Gia, or Baby Gia as some are already saying. Riley has her name mastered already and has the cutest voice when he says it. Chris and I get so entertained asking him his baby sister's name over and over. As the days are flying by, she will be here before we know it and it will be time for Riley to meet the baby sister we tell him about everyday. Someone asked me if we think her Italian name will match up to her features, to which I replied who knows? And really, who cares? She will own her name just like Riley owns his. We cannot think of a more perfect name for that Irish looking lad of ours! Perhaps Gianna will be blonde and blue eyed, too. And maybe not! Many surprises coming our way all in good time. Times could not be more exciting than this!
