It has been a very long hiatus for Mommy and her blogging - WOW! It's hard to believe that over TWO years has flown by. Last time I blogged, Gianna was four months old. Her 3rd birthday is now just a mere two months away. I only wish I could turn back time and write all the milestones that are now recorded in various formats across multiple mediums. I suppose the most important location for recording anything at all is within my mind while living in the moment.
During Christmas 2011, I turned this entire blog (2007-2010) into a hardcover book as a gift to our family. I wanted this corner of our world to be preserved before too much time passed by again. Chris took one look at the finished product and was amazed. He very enthusiastically told me to start blogging again so that we could read each book around the campfire someday. Well, 10 months later, here I am! It honestly took this long to find my way back to Blogger.
It has been a whirlwind of a year. I ended my contract with a main design client and jumped on board with Chris' business, PortItalia Construction. It has been a roller coaster of a ride, and the benefits have been tremendous! Our family is benefitting in all the ways we were hoping for, as our flexible schedules have allowed us to be even more present in Riley and Gianna's active lives. Don't get me wrong, we aren't experiencing a cake walk over here. Chris and I are flying by the seat of our pants and doing the most important work we have ever put all of our blood, sweat, and tears into. Nothing ever comes easy! It's truly a beautiful and remarkable thing to be able to experience this ride with my best friend and love of my life. Together we are creating and fulfilling our ultimate dream. One happy family!
We ventured to Kauai this Summer and partook in a family vacation dream come true. It was Riley and Gianna's first travel by airplane and they were both stunning! Best little travelers ever. There are too many photos to post here, so I will upload one of our many favorites.
It feels good to be back, Blogger. Let the blogging continue!
