Let's Play!

At long last, Alicia and I were finally able to bring the kids together for a much needed play date (as well as girl time for the two of us). Riley had a blast catching up with his homeboy, Aidan. He even enjoyed stealing a few glances at Nadia, who was cuter than ever and such a happy baby! Both Aidan and Nadia are doing very well. Aidan's leukemia is in remission while he continues to undergo treatment for the next two years as a safe precaution. His blood work and spinal taps continue to prove that he is a healthy little man. Nadia is also doing fabulous and just two months shy from her 1st birthday! For being born six weeks premature, you would never know it. Just check out her chunky monkey face and legs! So sweet!

We met this morning in Willow Glen for a nice visit at the park down the street from my family's previous residence on Camino Ramon. It was already such a hot day at 10:30 in the morning that we were only able to withstand the heat for a few hours. Within that time, the kids ran amuck (except for Nadia, of course) and Riley simply had the best time on the playground. He even made friends with a family that were picnicing under the trees, and in turn they gave him some tasty potato chips. That kid makes friends where ever he goes!

Alicia and I are planning to get the kids together again soon, hopefully at Auntie Sylvia's apartment where the POOL is at. It's time to see if Riley has made amends with a swimming pool, since last year he wasn't very fond of anything other than a hot tub. If he likes a small wading pool on a hot day, he should like a big pool, right? We shall see! Let the summertime fun continue!
